As The Daily Tar Heel's Multimedia Managing Editor, I led art direction across all digital and print mediums for UNC’s independent student newspaper. Each week I managed each multimedia desk in production to ensure a cohesive and impactful visual narrative.
I worked with Editor-In-Chief Emmy Martin and Print Managing Editor Caitlyn Yaede to create an award-winning front-page design in response to a campus shooting of a professor.
I previously worked as the Design Editor between the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years and initially joined the newsroom as a Design Staffer in 2020.

Special Projects
During my tenure as Multimedia Managing Editor, I worked with Sports Managing Editor Lucas Thomae and a team of editors, writers, and developers to create a multimedia webpage to tell the story of Edwin Okoroma, UNC's first black varsity athlete. This project allowed us to incorporate photos, audio, and animation to tell an important story that had been overlooked for decades. I created the main editorial illustration and assisted in the development of the website.
I designed The Daily Tar Heel's official merch for the 2023-2024 school year. The main illustration is from an old design I found in the office and scanned. I then added the type and visual effects.
